Admission & Withdrawal Policy

Admission

• The school believes in offering equal opportunities to all students and as such there are no interview or elimination rounds for admission to any class.
• Age criteria for admission are given below. Any request for relaxation in age will not be entertained.
  • Nursery: three years completed as on 31st December.
  • Std. I: six years completed as on 31st December.
  • Std. II and above: based on the results and Leaving Certificate received from the previous school.
• All admissions are provisional until the School Leaving Certificate / Transfer Certificate from the previous school is received and school fees are paid in full. If the L.C. is not received or fees are not paid within the stipulated time, the Principal reserves the right to revoke the admission.
• Every year admission will be made subject to vacancies.

Withdrawal

• No School Leaving Certificate will be issued without a written application from the parents or guardians. One week's notice must be given before withdrawal of a pupil; otherwise fees will be charged.
• The School Leaving Certificate will be issued only after payment of all school fees and after obtaining a clearance certificate from the School Library, Laboratory, Students' Stores, Sports and Social Service departments.
• For a newly admitted student, one month's fees will be charged if admission is withdrawn before 30th June or within one month of the date of admission. No fees will be refunded if admission is withdrawn after 30th June or more than one month after the date of admission.
• For a regular admission, if admission is withdrawn after 30th June the first-term fees will be charged; if withdrawn after the first term, the whole year's fees will be charged.

Documents Required for New Admission

• Pre-primary: birth certificate and progress card of the previous school (if applicable).
• Std. I to XII: School Leaving Certificate and progress card (compulsory).
• Special achievements (if any): photocopies of certificates or awards for special performance in sports or external competitive examinations.
• Written information from parents regarding: the health history of the child (in case of serious illness), and any interest in the performing arts, drama, singing, compering and similar activities.

Examination

• Enrolment in the next grade, once refused, will not be reconsidered (Std. IX upwards).
• Unless all fee dues are cleared, students will not be allowed to see their results, and no bonafide or Leaving Certificate will be issued.
• If a student fails twice in the same class, his or her name will be struck off the school rolls (Std. IX upwards).

General Rules

• Parents and students should bear in mind the principles of discipline laid down in the Secondary School Code (1979), Rule 56: students are responsible to the school authorities not only for their conduct in school but also for their general behaviour outside it. Any reported or observed objectionable conduct out of school makes a student liable to disciplinary action.
• Students must be punctual and reach school in time for the assembly, before 7:55 am / 11:05 am. Students who are late will be sent home at the risk of their parents.
• Each student is responsible for his or her own belongings. Parents are advised not to allow their ward to bring valuable articles or excess money to school. The school is not responsible for the loss of books, pens or money.
• All are expected to communicate in English within the school campus.
• No student should leave the school premises during school hours without the permission of the Principal. Permission is granted only on receiving a written application from the parents.
• Every student must take care of school property and classroom furniture. Those who damage or destroy it must make good the damage; a fine may be imposed, and the decision of the Principal regarding the fine is final. A common breakage charge of Rs. 100 applies to Std. IX to XII at the time of withdrawal of admission.
• Students should park their bicycles at the allotted place, or pay a fine. Students must be present on all non-instructional days, or pay a fine of Rs. 50.
• A bonafide certificate will be issued only once in a year.
• On repeated misbehaviour or a serious offence against the rules, a student may be debarred or rusticated. After school hours no student should be seen loitering on the streets in school uniform.
• Students should take pride in keeping the school clean.
• Mobile phones and electronic devices brought into school without prior permission will be confiscated.
